A popular feature on WUFT for more than a decade, Children's Book Reviews feature assessments on the best in children's reading by those most likely to know...the kids themselves.  The reviews, which air about 4:45 pm between the local and national segments of All Things Considered every Wednesday, are written by the children and their parents.

Children's Book Reviews are designed to get children interested in reading, and give them and their parents a better idea of the children's literature available.  Each week, we feature a particular book, summarized and reviewed by the boy or girl who read it.

Children's Book Reviews is a joint production of WUFT/WJUF-FM and volunteer coordinators from the North Central Florida area.

One of the longest serving and most active volunteers was the late Jerre Conner, who made CBR and children's literacy part of her life's work for many years. In February, 2009, Jerre passed away after a bout with cancer. But her memory and legacy will live on, in the children who have discovered the joy of reading because of her.

Hear a special tribute to Jerre which aired on March 4th, 2009.
