“Drugging America’s Preschoolers” (March 30, 12:10 p.m. to 1:10 p.m)
We’ll examine various issues related to the mental health of the 0-6 age group including the growing reliance on mood altering drugs for youngsters. What does the research say about it? Why has it increased so dramatically in recent years? What are the alternatives to drugs?

John Rosemond is a family psychologist and director of the Center for Affirmative Parenting in Gastonia, North Carolina. The Center for Affirmative Parenting is a national parenting resource center whose primary activity is that of providing skillshops and other educational presentations for parents and professionals who work with children and families. The center also provides print and audio materials on parenting and child development.

John is the author of several books including "To Spank or Not to Spank" (Andrews and McMeel, 1994), "Making the 'Terrible' Twos Terrific!" (Andrews and McMeel, 1993), and "John Rosemond's Six-Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children" (Andrews and McMeel, 1989).

John's nationally syndicated column appears in more than 100 newspapers (including the Gainesville Sun), reaching more than 10 million readers weekly.
